Not only are we golfers inspired by great golf, but even more so by great golf holes, and often we dream of traveling far and wide just for a chance to play even one of the world's greatest courses. Imagine the thrill and excitement of getting to play all of our favorite holes, not in one year, or even one month, but in one inspired round of golf...impossible you say? No longer, all you need is to book a round at The Royal Gems Golf City in Rangsit, Thailand, the newest and most exciting golf project in Southeast Asia.
The avid golfer will recall the thrilling moments from the majors, the Ryder Cup, and other events, as they play this course whose front nine is inspired by many of the greatest holes from the U.S. and U.K. and whose back nine is wholly inspired, from “Amen Corner” to the exciting 18 th , by the back 9 at Augusta National.
On the front nine you will get to play holes that will bring back memories of shots played at the famed Church Pews bunker, 3 rd hole from Oakmont, the long par five 6 th from Bayhill, the 17 th from the TPC Sawgrass, Royal Troon's “The Postage Stamp”, the 10 th at The Belfry, and the Road Hole 17 th from St. Andrews among others. And the back nine will bring you all of the challenge and strategy required to negotiate the final nine at the U.S. Masters Championship. As you play the famed 12 th you will experience the thrill of walking over both the Hogan and Sarazan Bridges, you will play the difficult par 3 16 th where Tiger Woods so famously holed out his pitch shot that seemed to hang on the lip for eternity, and you will take the long and final march up the 18 th where the Masters Championship has so often been won or lost.
The designer, Ron Garl, has done a great job of bringing these inspired holes to life, and the course, which is wall to wall Platinum Paspallum, will even delight those newer golfers who have not experienced the famed holes noted above. What's more, the course is only 30 minutes north of Bangkok on the Ring Road, and is convenient to get to and away. It will not be as difficult to get the chance to play The Royal Gems Golf City as it is to get on Augusta, but it is not easy, and we really recommend that you do not pass up the opportunity should it arise.
The Clubhouse is finished and it is one of the best in Thailand.
